A Stanford Law School graduate, I retired after 27 years of prosecuting complex white-collar crime and consumer protection cases to do something even more challenging and rewarding: counseling high school students as they navigate the maze of college admissions. Finding the right college for each student requires a keen understanding of the student, the marketplace of colleges, and the process by which students present their best “self-portraits” to colleges during the admissions process.
In addition to my general college counseling practice, I am also affiliated with Optimal Edu Options, a full-service educational consulting service practicing in Phoenix and Tucson which specializes in finding solutions for families with students who have special needs (e.g., ADD/ADHD, ASD, learning differences, mood disorders, addiction, and trauma) and need placement outside the home before college. Because my friends and relatives have struggled with some of these issues, I find it very rewarding to help such students find their best college “fit”. See Students With Special Needs / Disabilities for more information about my college counseling services for these students. Parents who need more than educational counseling should contact Optimal at http://optimaleduoptions.com/ to review their full range of services.
Independence: As an independent educational consultant, I work for you. I do not receive any funds from colleges to “place” your student with them. Similarly, I do not guarantee admission at any particular college because it would be unethical to do so. My goal as a counselor is to choose the right colleges for the student and help that student present a compelling case for admission.
Credentials: I am proud to be an associate membership of IECA (a “gold standard” for independent educational consultants).
I look forward to working with you, and can be reached at rosenblattcollegecounseling@comcast.net
